The Banning Museum is seeking volunteers and will host two Get to Know Us receptions on Friday, August 21, 2015 and Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The receptions will be held in the conference room at the Banning Museum, 401 East “M” Street, Wilmington, CA 90744. Volunteers at the Banning Museum attend a training class to gain the background necessary to offer public tours and special group tours of the interior of the Museum, Stagecoach Barn and grounds. Saturday, February 7  1:00 pm – 3:00 pm (Stagecoach Barn) Guests will enjoy celebrating Valentine’s Day inside the Banning Museum’s historic Stagecoach barn. Presented in a vintage setting, you will be treated to an elegant light luncheon served on exquisite fine china with a special selection of teas chosen for the occasion. There will be live entertainment, as well as complimentary tours of the Museum, the Transportation Exhibition and the Visitor Center. Over 4,000 visitors from the local community and as far away as San Diego and Bakersfield visited the Banning Museum for the annual Victorian Christmas Celebration and Open House. There were smiles all around as guests enjoyed the holiday festivities in beautiful Southern California weather. Santa greeted the little ones and horse drawn trolleys carried folks to the Drum Barracks Museum down the street. Still, the star of the show was the Banning Mansion dressed in its finest holiday splendor.
