Please join Friends of Banning Museum for a special lecture on Saturday, October 11 at 10 am in the historic Stagecoach Barn at the Banning Museum. The Ada Hancock Disaster remains the most tragic loss of life event to take place in the Los Angeles Harbor. Banning Museum Director, Michael Sanborn will lecture on the cause and aftermath that impacted the survivors and the businesses that suffered as a result of the horrific explosion. Aboard the ill-fated steamer, some of Los Angeles’s most notable figures of the time were killed instantly. Phineas Banning himself was aboard and was severely injured only to recover to deal with the guilt and anguish of making amends.
Admission is FREE for Friends of Banning Museum members and just $5.00 general admission for non-members. To RSVP or for more information, call 310-548-2005.
