Wisteria Garden Party Raises Money and Spirits!

On Saturday, May 10, Friends of Banning Museum held The Wisteria Garden Party with the theme, Alice in Wonderland. Over 150 guests enjoyed an afternoon of fun and whimsy, while raising funds for the Friends conservation and educational programs. A delicious boxed lunch provided by local caterer, Critics Choice was a big hit as well as the music and stylings of South Torrance High students.  The highlight of the afternoon and purpose of the event was the awarding of the Wisteria Scholarships to four of Banning High School’s brightest seniors: Loreley Moreno, Alexa Ferrer, Angie Jean Augustin and Kaylin Pineda. Councilmember, Tim McOsker from CD 15 joined Friend’s Board Member and Master of Ceremonies, Amy Grat to present certificates. Congratulations to these wonderful students who have very bright futures ahead of them! The event closed with prizes for the best costume and chocolate roses for all the moms attending in celebration of Mother’s Day and Dia de las Madres. All in all, the event was a big success, raising much needed funds as well as the spirits of all who joined!
